This recap series is of a short WEG 1e Star Wars campaign I am running.
SCENE 01 – [Meta-context – The shipment from Graven is a clutch of Ysalimari eggs in an incubator that need to be delivered to a Jedi Hunter in Sith space before they hatch; the crew is unaware of these details] The crew of the Rancor set a course for Rago IV, a curious jungle planet on the Rago Run trade route inhabited by the apelike Ma’alkerrite species. The planet is mostly covered by teeming jungle broken by huge mountains. The Ma’alkerrite have a high level of technology but have integrated into the natural surroundings of the planet, travelling between mountains via zipline.
Whilst en route to Rago, Kane receives an emergency message from his daughter, Lissandra, urgently requesting help at a biological research facility in the Dressel system; this is not far out of their planned course, so the crew agrees to help Kane.
SCENE 02 – After dropping the team off on Dressel, Cas orbits the planet and he scans a large cruiser in orbit maintaining a constant distance from the Rancor, matching its velocity to stay on the exact opposite side of the planet.
The ship’s transponder identifies it as the Betrayed Bantha.
The team is dropped off in the southern hemisphere close to some ruins which serve as the biological research outpost.
Getting close to the ruins, they are met by three armed men bearing the insignia of the Mantellian Seperatist Movement.
The leader, Captain Gar Draji admits that the distress signal was a decoy to get them to this planet. He wants Kane to arrange a meeting with his friend high up in the Republic, Val Daivik. Silas agrees, provided they supply him with Imperial transponder codes. Draj hands over the codes but says they will be watching his daughter and she will be collateral in case Kane double crosses the MSM.
Draj gives Kane a communicator that he can use when the meeting is set up.
SCENE 03 – Arriving at Rago IV, the Rancor lands in the massive space port and the team breaks up to cover more ground.
Kane and HK go to the local Bounty Hunters Guild HQ and meet with Val-Val, the Gungan Guid Leader. Val-Val claims to not know the whereabouts of Baize, but Kane understands that this is because Baize’s bounty is top secret and there is no public record of this job.
However, she would be willing to trade this information if Kane brings in a rogue bounty hunter by the name of Deonor Lenda, who has been poaching bounties and claiming the rewards. This is a violation of Guild rules, but he is well-hidden in the jungle of Rago IV. Val-Val gives Kane and HK Lenda’s approximate location and warns them that he is armed and dangerous.
SCENE 04 – Meanwhile, Yort and Cas look around the space port for signs of Baize’s ship, HNTR-GRL1; there is no sign of it.
Going to the Port Authority, Cas flashes a fake badge and says that he is a customs agent — Baize’s ship has an invasive species of insect on board and it needs to be quarantined before the insects get loose and wreak havoc on the planet’s ecosystem.
The clerk at the Port Authority gives them the location of Baize’s private hanger, three long ziplines from the space port.
SCENE 05 – HK and Kane are able to track Lenda through the forest and to the cave he hides in. The cave is covered with brush and the smell of cooking drifts out.
Kane shouts to Lenda to give up, and is met with blaster fire in return.
KH climbs the small distance to the cave and tears off the brush, exposing himself to Lenda’s heavy blaster fire, but one shot misses completely and the other merely grazes his shoulder.
Lenda hides behind his makeshift stove and HK runs up to him — the intimidating sight of an assassin droid cows Lenda into surrendering, begging for his life.
Using a pair of Lenda’s binders, they escort him back to Guild HQ.
SCENE 06 – Val-Val is so pleased with seeing Lenda returned in one piece and finally apprehended, she gives the pair the 500 Credit reward on Lenda’s head and tells them the location of Baize’s secret landing pad.
