Dateline: Wednesday, 8 April, 1925 – SCENE 01 -Arriving at Giza Plateau, Morello, al-Sedat, and Taylor, along with Ishaq Rahad and his mercenaries, approach Mycerinus’ pyramid. Ishaq Rahad leads them to the burial shaft where the Clive expedition found the unmarked sarcophagus of Queen Nitocris and the golden chest.

Before entering the burial shaft, they see a large procession approaching the Sphinx.

Searching the empty, unmarked chamber, they locate a secret doorway; beyond the doorway, a steep shaft going down 30 feet and another chamber at its end; a faint, foul odor, can be smelled emanating from the shaft.

Following the shaft, they discover a small, square room, with doorways on each wall, but they have been bricked over. Taylor is able to discern that one of the doorways has just a rudimentary brick wall overlaid with plaster; they have soon broken through and see a carved passageway ahead, going deep into the darkness below the pyramid…

SCENE 02 – Crandal, fading in and out of consciousness, awakens to a vague recollection of being removed from the hospital by another doctor; she is loaded into an ambulance, and riding in the back of the ambulance is a man, who addresses her in ancient Egyptian.

The man tells Crandal that he is Omar al-Shakti, though he remembers her as Berenike (her past life); he was Senet, the vizier that rose to power with Queen Nitocris and introduced her to the Black Pharoah. Now, at last, Senet is able to enact his revenge upon the descendants of Ra-Hotep, who still guard the girdle of Nitcoris, and he will resurrect her on the night of the new moon.

Crandal is brought to al-Shakti’s grounds and is put into the back of a lorry along with James Garnder and Agatha Broadmoor. Martin Winfield is driving the lorry.

SCENE 03 – Crandal and the others are driven out as far as the roads will go, and then are put onto camels and the train of cultists approaches the Sphinx (the same observed by the other investigators from Queen Nitocris’ burial tomb).

As the train of cultists approaches the stele at the base of the Sphinx, they are met, or rather, interrupted by, a man dressed in a black robe – Augustus Larkin. He is accompanied by two hideous looking creatures that are a mix of man and animal.

After speaking with Larkin, Crandal and the others are brought into the Sphinx after al-Shakti (wielding two scepters that look very similar to those recovered from Misr House) and into the dark passageways beneath the Sphinx.

SCENE 04 – Taken to the Great Chamber of Nyarlathotep, Crandal and Broadmoor are forced to watch Gardner be sacrificed; however, before the ritual can be consummated, it is interrupted by the investigators.

Taylor is able to rescue Gardner, sending the cultist about to lower him into a large pit filled with water to his watery death, eaten by large, many-mouthed leeches.

Hidden among the cultists is Carl Muntz, who has been undercover in the cult for the past several months. Seeing the distraction afforded by the investigators, Muntz shoots al-Shakti dead, who immediately turns to dust, and grabs the scepters.

Abasi lays down cover fire while Kabir, whose rifle jams, wades into the fray wielding his rifle like a club.

Morello is stabbed by a cultist and critically wounded; Mahmoud picks him up and begins retreating from the chamber, Morello slung over his shoulder. Taylor sets Garnder free from his cage.
