Dateline: 17 April, 1925 – SCENE 01 – The team awakens, rattled, in a small skiff adrift on the Nile river. They quickly discover that they are also naked, left to bake under the hot Egyptian sun; a final joke courtesy of the Black Pharaoh.

Searching the skiff shows that their belongings are hidden in a secret hold. The investigators dress but have no way to move the skiff back to the shore except by means of hand-paddling. They eventually make their way to the Cairo side of the shore and hire transport back to the city.

This is only a small comfort, however; the investigators are deeply damaged by their encounter with Nyarlathotep and will liekly bear those scars for the rest of their lives.

SCENE 02 – Returning to Shepherd’s, the team formulates a desperate plan in three parts: part one, get the newspapers to print stories about Senet in his current guise as Malif and strongly hint that the disappearance of al-Shakti is due to foul play; part two, secure a British aeroplane that can fly them from al-Shakti’s plantation to Mombassa, which will cut their journey down to 3 days; part three, enlist help from the local Imams and Ishaq Rahad to take advantage of the chaos caused by the newspapers and rescue Broadmoor while stealing the artifacts needed to resurrect Queen Nitocris.

Dateline: 21 April, 1925 – SCENE 03 – With one day remaining before the new moon and the ritual to resurrect Queen Nitocris, the team puts their plan into action.

As the Cairo police are leaving with Malif to be brought in for questioning, a mob appears at the gate demanding justice for al-Shakti. As soon as the police leave, the scene turns violent with the mob jumping the fence and attacking the cultists.

SCENE 04 – Taking advantage of the confusion at the front of the compound, Taylor, Moriarty, and Asad, along with two mercenaries, Omar and Amir, climb over the wall at the back of the property and sneak across the cotton fields.

Taylor is able to guide the team through the cotton fields without being noticed, observing that the works appear to be very quiet and listless. Several of them wear inverted ankhs around their necks.

Taylor is able to pick the lock to the rear door of the manor house and the team heads to where Crandel had described Broadmoor’s room to be. The sounds of the fighting seem to be just outside the house; the report of gunfire, and of breaking glass, can be heard.

Rounding a corner, the team comes across two cultists armed with short clubs. They order the team to stop where they are. Taylor grabs a decorative table from the corridor and throws it across their path; one of the cultists gets tangled in the table but the other jumps over the hurdle and hits Taylor across the dead. Taylor stabs the cultist and the others shoot both of them.

Before they can get clear of the dead cultists, a creature with a man’s body and a hippo’s head rounds the corner and charges them. Amir is able to shoot the creature but not before it sinks its teeth into him, nearly crushing his torso. Amir is able to remain conscious.

After the creature is dispatched, Asad rushes to Amir’s side and opening up a small earthenware vessel he keeps at his belt, pours oil onto Amir’s head, intoning a chant in a language Amir does not recognize. Immediately, Amir feels calm and at peace, his pain forgotten. Moriarty’s mind feels incredibly clear as well and is able to recall his medic training from the Great War and manages to stop Amir’s bleeding and binds his wounds with makeshift bandages.

SCENE 05 – Taylor picks the lock to Broadmoor’s room and the team convinces her they were went by Berenike to rescue her. Broadmoor tells them where the nearest exit is, but they refuse: the still have one more job to do.

SCENE 06 – The battered party makes it to al-Shakti/Senet’s library and Amir notices some books are out of place. Removing the books reveals a panel but Amir cannot figure out how to open it up. Moriarty is able to remove the panel and it gives way to reveal

Taylor has no problem picking the lock to the safe and inside he sees the girdle, necklace, and crown of Nitocris, as well as a log book, business papers, and cash. Taylor scoops up the contents of the safe.

The instant the items are in Taylor’s hands, the air around them grows cold an a wind from an unseen place picks up. The air congeals and crackles as a hunting horror takes shape, filling the library, and smashing the surrounding area and ceiling. It cries out in its fell voice.

Amir’s mind snaps at the sight and he fires his rifle uncontrollably, the bullets grazing his companions before passing out. Taylor flees with Broadmoor in tow, carrying the artifacts out of the manor house. Moriarty realizes that this creature is beyond his ability to deal with and also flees. Only Omar and Asad remain to face off against the Hound of Nyarlathotep.

Using the enchanted Sword of Akmallah, Omar and Asad enter a terrible battle against the hunting horror, ultimately vanquishing it, but at a bitter cost: Omar is hit by a forelimb of the beast, instantly crushing his head and spattering his brains across the room.

Too wounded to continue fighting, the horror folds itself back into the realm from whence it came, the wind dying down and the room’s charnel house chill subsiding. In the sudden silence, Asad sees Amir is still alive, and scooping him up, carries him to the rendezvous point…

SCENE 07 – Running as fast as they can towards the aeroplane, Crandel and Ishaq Rahad spurring them onwards, Taylor is grabbed by something under the sands and stumbles. The wind swirls around, forming into a 7 foot tall humanoid with partial skeletal features.

Taylor is able to get out of the grip of the creature, but Broadmoor is frozen in terror. Crandel reaches out with her mind and is able to rouse Broadmoor, who runs past the creature.

Moriarty was not so lucky. As he tried to go around the Sand-Dweller, the creature raised his sepulchral hand towards Moriarty and Moriarty’s flesh blackened and caked, shriveling as he screamed before his lungs filled with blood and his vocal chords gave out.

As the aeroplane starts taxiing down the road, Asad appears carrying Amir. Climbing aboard, the team takes to the sky.

Dateline: 24 April, 1925 – SCENE 08 – Asad arrives at the British aerodome outside of Mombassa. Carrying the remaining artifacts, he is accompanied by Ishaq Rahad. Taylor, Crandel, and Broadmoor left two days ago, departing for England with the Nitocris artifacts; Amir was dropped off at a hospital in Sudan to have proper care.

Asad has but seven days to stop Nyarlathotep’s child from being born at the Mountain of the Black Wind
