DATELINE: 30 MAY 1925 – SCENE 01 – Captain Pendracopolis informs Miss Shosenberg that 18 people have gone missing in the past week after meeting a woman in the ship’s bar that exactly matches her description. As Shosenberg has spent the past week completing her reading of Amongst The Stones, she has no alibi, and is loathe to tell the captain the truth: that her doppelganger is on the ship and is luring men away for some unknown purpose and set Shosenberg up.

Shosenberg agrees to house arrest instead of being thrown in the brig while the captain investigates these accusations.

SCENE 02 – The rest of the team is allowed to visit Shosenberg after being questioned by the captain. Chesterfield wants to speak with the captain, but Ishaq Rahad is outraged, and angry at himself for not connecting the woman he saw with the doppelganger. Ishaq Rahad and Allen arm themselves and start searching the ship for the the Shosenberg double.

SCENE 03 – Ishaq Rahad, Mwai, and Allen discover that deep within the ship’s hold, the missing men have all been put into the diving bells they spotted being loaded onto the ship. They recognize the altar that the saw at the peak of the Mountain of the Black Wind when the cultists tried to complete the Birthing. Umbilical cables run from the cylinders to the altar, where a strange device glows.

SCENE 04 – The team splits up and not long after the doppelganger appears. The team realizes it’s now or never and they launch a desperate attack on the cultists.

Due to Allen’s quick thinking, the Investigators are able to take down the cultists just as the captain arrives with several porters.

SCENE 04 – The doppelganger and the three cultists are arrested and thrown into the brig. Shosenberg goes to the brig but doesn’t learn much aside from the doppelganger saying she has accomplished what it was created for.

SCENE 04 – All charges are dropped against Shosenberg and the captain makes a public announcement at dinner that evening fully exonerating her and her travelling companions. That night they dine at the captain’s table and all is well that ends well.

SCENE 05 – DATELINE: 31 MAY 1925 – The next morning, Chesterfield, Ishaq Rahad, and Mwai awaken to a strange sound — or, rather, a strange lack of sound, as the ship is utterly silent and drifting through a dense fog. All movement aboard the ship has ceased and it is as dead as a ghost ship: no engines are running, no people are about to be seen nor heard.

Everyone else aboard the ship is in a deep fugue state, and only four passengers appear to be awake.
